Is liking work a God thing? 

The writer of Ecclesiastes wrote,

18 Behold, what I have seen to be good and fitting is to eat and drink and find enjoyment in all the toil with which one toils under the sun the few days of his life that God has given him, for this is his lot. 19 Everyone also to whom God has given wealth and possessions and power to enjoy them, and to accept his lot and rejoice in his toil—this is the gift of God.  (Ecclesiastes 5:18-19)

May God helps us to enjoy our labor and the fruit of our labor.

VBS is always more than you can imagine. The decorations are bigger and better, the kids are funnier than you could’ve expected, the music is hipper than what you thought you listened to, and the curriculum is deeper than what you first digested. That’s exactly what happened this year as we tackled VBS 2014 this summer. God is a really big god, and by really big I mean He always outdoes us. That’s exactly what he did this year. We put our best foot forward and he leaps ahead. It’s the truth of the verse in James coming to life… Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. 

We had stations with food crafts, bible adventures, outside relays and real-life child testimony videos connecting to that day’s theme. It was all so touching and just so… Well, weird! We all found a part of ourselves inside the lessons for each day. It’s because even though we’re all different, make mistakes, don’t understand and are afraid sometimes, we find ourselves running to something that will hold us down – our anchor. Something that will bring us peace and joy and grace – and if were all pointed toward the one who can really give us all of those things, then really were all sharing that common thread: we’re all “weird animals” just doing the same weird ole thing.

Come join our youth group as we kick off the school year with our Back To School Pool Party! Parents are encouraged to bring their kids for food, games and lots of cannonballs!

If it is difficult for parents to drop kids off at the party, no worries! Freedom Fellowship will be more than happy to pick you at the church and take you TO the party.

One of the latest trends on the Internet and social media is Pinterest, a virtual pin board where people can collect, organize, and share what they discover on the Web. The company says their mission is to “connect everyone in the world through the things they find interesting.” You might even call it a visual search engine.

Creativity is all around us—and I’m not just talking about online. We encounter God’s creation each and every day. If we pay attention, we’ll catch displays of His spectacular creativity, His breathtaking attention to detail, and His astonishing power. Even better, paying attention to creation reveals our wondrous Creator. Such reminders are important when we feel like God is distant or detached from our lives, or when we question His involvement in the world.

Psalm 104 helps us discover that God created all things through His wisdom and power—and that He is intimately involved even in the smallest details of our lives.

The POINTEverything in creation is the work of the God who loves us.
