Jesus proclaimed that we would do “greater things” than He Himself would do.
That’s hard to imagine huh? And yet Jesus said it.
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13“Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.… (john 14:12-13
What could be greater than rising from the dead? What could be greater than restoring mankind to life with the Father again? And yet Jesus said we would do greater things. What “greater things” does God want us to accomplish?
Easter Sunday will soon be here. Resurrection Sunday will soon be here. I believe gathering in unprecedented numbers to collectively lift up his Name and collectively celebrate his resurrection is a start of the “greater things” that Jesus spoke of. But that’s only a start. I believe participating with God in our own renewal (a repetitive resurrection if you will) is one of the “greater things” that Jesus was speaking of. And, I believe participating with God in the first time ever resurrection for some is one of those “greater things” that Jesus was speaking of. What do you believe?
